Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first vice president to be female and highest-ranking female official of U.S. History, as also the first African American and second Asian American vice president. As a member the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and an United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected as the district attorney of San Francisco. She was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010, and reelected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 to 2021. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election and became the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress , and the only South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. She was a senator , and was a vocal advocate for reforms to healthcare and federal cannabis de-scheduling. She also advocated for an opportunity to become a citizen for immigrants who are not legally documented as well as the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to her direct questions to Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
